Open the Notability App. 

On the top left side of the screen select the settings icon.



This will take you immediately to the “Auto-Backup” option in settings. You can choose from a variety of sources to store your data in. just select your desired option. 



You can also use iCloud Synching to backup your data.  Select "iCloud" and make sure "iCloud Syncing" is turned ON. This will ensure that your files are saved to your Apple ID when you back up your device, and you can find them in your files. This is the most recommended way of ensuring your files are properly backed-up so you can access them later.



You can also backup your files manually. Click the three dots in the top right corner and choose “Select Notes”. 



Choose which ones you want to backup, then hit “Share”, located on the bottom of your screen. 



Select which File Format you want, PDF, Note, JPEG, etc, and click Share.



Select “Save to Files” and select which folder you want to put the notes in before clicking save.  



Please keep in mind that Notability is only free under the school's remote management system. Unless you want to pay for Notability's subscription or have already purchased the app prior to the subscription service, you will want to follow the third option for saving your notes.





Open the GoodNotes app and select the Settings icon in the upper-right corner and select "Settings".



There are multiple ways to back-up your files: select "iCloud Settings" and tap the switch to enable iCloud back-up.



The second way is to select "Automatic Backup"




Make sure "Auto Backup" is turned on and select the "iCloud Storage" Service you'd like to save you files to. It will prompt you to login to whichever service you choose.




When the Cloud Service is connected you will see a message stating "Backup successfully completed". It will also provide the "Last Backup Time" listed underneath the message.




The third way is to select "Backup Data" and select "Backup Now"



Select "Save to Files"



Select "iCloud Drive", choose whichever folder you'd like to save your notes to, and select "Save"



Now you can ensure your notes are backed up!
